Angela Queen of Hel #7 Books

Beautiful art and a darker Norse character make for rich story telling. I’m not sure why Marvel hasn’t capitalized on Angela more, yet. She’s a gorgeous badass with some amazing artists down my her justice page by page, this collection is impressive.

Angela Queen of Hel #7 Books Reviews

it's just not i expected , a true Asgardian hero.
Contains Angela Queen of Hel #1-7

Also a heads up that 1602 Witch Hunter Angela --despite being an alternate universe miniseries-- does actually play a role in this book, so if you're reading all things Angela it would fit between Asgard's Assassin and this. Speaking of Asgard's Assassin and 1602 Angela, I loved those. The first one made me want lots more Angela and 1602 reminded me how much I enjoyed the core of the character even if she was altered. But those were co-written by Kieron Gillen and Margeurite Bennett, while this was Bennett's first time writing the character solo. And it was frustrating.

The story starts with Angela as queen of Hel after defeating Hela, it then flashes back 8 months to show how that happened. The overall story is good but I just can't stand Sera. I didn't think much of her in the other books but it wasn't a big deal as she wasn't so prevalent even if she was always around. In this she's the real main character and Angela could basically be her bodyguard; remove Angela calling Sera variations of "my sweet" and she could even be a silent bodyguard. In their 1602 book, Sera developed the power of breaking the fourth wall, which was annoying enough but little used, in this book Sera would demolish the fourth wall whenever I started to get into the story. During a tale about nordic myths, magic, and ancient rules that takes place in the underworld she'd complain about Frank Ocean's album taking forever. One time Balder talked about needing the wi-fi password to watch Game of Thrones. It bothered me enough that I wanted to give up after a couple issues, and while I did finish it, my problems with the book only got worse.

I say poorly scripted because what happens is interesting, but the way it's written and the dialogue were at odds with the plot. Or perhaps, what I want from a story with that plot about that character. 2 stars because the art was good and the hellhound with constructive insults is brilliant.
This comic amazed me, I came in with negative expectations, Angela was most famous for skimpy bikni armor but when I read it I feel in love. Angela Queen of Hel isa Journey that I want to take over and over again and it's sad the journey ends in this volume. This comic is funny, romantic, intense, intresting and a wonderful step into the Marvel universes Hel.

If you are seeking a story with queer characters in love this is maybe the ultimate action romance story. Sera is a trans woman caught in Hel who sent word to her beloved Angela using her magic. Angela then goes down to Hel content to rescue and from there you get action, romance, emotions, laughs, it fires on all cyilders.

This isn't a story that will appeal everyone but nearly no great will. This story is for people who are tired of the Bury Your Gays trope that has been filling TV, people who want intresting action in a rare setting in the marvel universe, people who like a slice of meta humor. The only issue I had with it is the art's contrast can be a bit jaring but I think limiting art changes to flash backs at least makes it easy to deal with.

I don't think you need to be a part of the LGBT+ community to enjoy this story at all but if you are I think you'll get that extra kick out of this story. Check it out, this is a classic for me.
Amazing, I'm so glad the team behind this was able to plan out the ending when they knew it was coming, and not leave the story unfinished.
First off, the art in this was gorgeous. Just moment after moment of beautiful art. Beyond that, I really enjoyed what this team was working toward. This is a great character and very different from Thor. It's a very personal story of a warrior willing to fight all of Hell for the girl she loves and feels she owes.
The story is incredible and between the female characters is pretty unique. Keep up the good work. Look forward to more from Angela.
I was not expecting this comic to be so good. Angela Asgard's Assassin, the trade that comes before this one, is solid but doesn't really delve into Angela as a character. It more or less reinforces her as a bad ass Asgardian warrior and hints at something between her and Sera.

Queen of Hel really helps develop Angela as a character and shows her vulnerable side. Her relationship and feelings for Sera are the driving force in this trade. The story is a lot of the fun, Angela travels to Hel to save Sera, and the artwork is stunning.

The only thing that bugged me about this trade is that Sera breaks the 4th wall a little too much for my taste. Fortunately it does not detract from how good this book is. I highly recommend it.
